Volunteers Needed: Join a Committee! Pretty much every committee and task force could use help. We are not a congregation that can afford the paid staff needed to do everything. We have depended on volunteers since our founding and still need to. Examples: we are starting a Security Committed and need help. Marketing and Social Action have no chairpersons leading those efforts. We'd love to start a Social Justice committee but need a champion. Tzedakah for Highland Park Parade Victims -- We are collecting tzedakah to help the Highland Park Parade victims. All donations will be distributed directly to those who were seriously injured and the families of the deceased via Victims First, a nonprofit that aids victims of mass shootings. 100 percent of donations to the Victims First Highland Park Parade Victims Fund will go to the victims, and your donation is tax deductible. Donate at the synagogue's tzedakah box, online by clicking here, or by mailing a check. Checks should be made out to Victims First, with "Highland Park Parade Victims" in the memo line, and mailed to Victims First, 4195 Chino Hills Parkway #593, Chino Hills, CA 91709. New Singers Welcome! Lahaka High Holidays Rehearsals Start Wednesday, July 27, 7:00 p.m. -- Shir Hadash's adult choir the Lahaka returns in-person for this year's High Holidays, under the direction of Marek Rachelski. We’d love to have you participate. We provide sheet music and learning tracks for all members. The first rehearsal will be on July 27 at 7:00 p.m. at Shir Hadash. Rosh Chodesh Women's Group (In-Person), August 1, 7:00 p.m. -- Get together with old friends and make new ones by participating in the ancient Jewish custom of celebrating the new moon each month. National Night Out, Tuesday August 2, 5:30 p.m. -- Shir Hadash will be participating in this community event presented by the Wheeling Park District and police department.
