 Shabbat Dinner Blessings (Zoom) Friday June 3, 6:15 p.m.  -- Rabbi Eitan leads a 20 minute Zoom service as we bless our families, the wine and the challah for Shabbat dinner at home. He also will share some "golden oldies" -- 78 rpm recordings of Jewish music played on his Sonora gramophone.


SaturdayShavu'ot Multigenerational Service, Blintzes, and Study (Hybrid In-Person and Zoom), Saturday June 4: RSVP for Blintzes by 10:00 a.m. Today -- We'll begin with a service for all generations at 6:00 p.m., and everyone is invited to enjoy blintzes at 6:45. (To share in the blintzes, you must RSVP by 10:00 a.m. today, Thursday). At 7:30, adults will gather for a worship service followed by study sessions. Visit the event page for details and to RSVP. 

Next Week: Shabbat Service and SHED Talk (Zoom), Friday June 10, 7:30 p.m. -- Our SHED Talk services begin with a brief Kabbalah Shabbat to welcome the Shabbat with song and story. Then, Shir Hadash members offer personal reflections on life, living, and Judaism. On June 10, Sean Fisher-Rohde shares "Finding Each Other in the Cosmos."

Office Holiday Closure, June 6 -- Please note that the synagogue office will be closed on June 6 for Shavu'ot.

Security Team Needs Volunteers -- Shir Hadash has a security action plan and equipment. We were talking about implementing training and did a bit before Covid hit. Now, it’s time to get back to implementing our plan. We need volunteers willing to help. Please contact President, Stuart Aizenberg if interested – 847-840-7895 / President@shir-hadash.org.


Buffalo Grove Pride Parade, Sunday June 5, 11:00 a.m. -- Shir Hadash will again be marching in the Parade as we did prior to Covid.  We may also have an information table in the park after the parade. Please contact Lynne Arons if you’d like to march and/or help out at our table: 847-732-7001 / lynnearons1@gmail.com .


Queer Torah Study, Sunday June 5, 1:00 p.m. -- Following the Buffalo Grove Pride Parade (above), Shir Hadash will join in an inclusive torah study led by Keshet educator Jackie Maris. We'll gather with other congregations in the park at 951 McHenry Road.  No knowledge of Hebrew required; all are welcome.


Mussar Discussion Group (Zoom), Thursday June 9, 7:30 p.m. -- Mussar is a centuries old Jewish body of teachings, a perspective, and a disciplined practice that provides distinctively Jewish answers to the sorts of questions any thinking person asks about life. MOSH/WISH Go to Pinstripes, Sunday June 12, 4:30 p.m. -- MOSH (Men of Shir Hadash) & WISH (Women in Shir Hadash) invite you to an adult event at Pinstripes in Northbrook!  We are meeting at the indoor Bocce ball courts for Bocce, food, drinks, and conversation. Food and drink, including Happy Hour, are available for purchase and Bocce ball is optional for an additional $7.00/pp payable at the Restaurant. Please RSVP via the event page.


Greater Chicago Jewish Festival, Sunday June 12 -- The largest Jewish cultural event in Chicagoland features live music, artwork, Kosher food, and a wide variety of organizations and activities. Complete details at  https://jewishfestival.org/ .


Book Club Discusses Evergreen (Zoom)Thursday June 16, 7:30 p.m. -- The Shir Hadash Book Club is reading the novel Evergreen by Belva Plain. Join us for a lively virtual discussion; RSVP to be sent the Zoom link. 


Come Grow at Shir Hadash! Several of our greenspace garden plots are available for congregants who are interested in planting. Please contact Rabbi Eitan or the office (847-498-8218) if you are interested, to confirm what plots are still available - first come first served. We can't wait to see what shir hadashnik gardeners grow this year!


NW Suburban Interfaith Council iWalk, Sunday, June 26
